How everything starts to look different

Therapy and magic are a weird combination, right?

Because just like you, most things I do are, well...normal. But when I come across people who are open to learning something new, there is usually a moment where magic actually happens.

An insight or perspective comes forward and everything starts to look different.

I work really well with people who are self-aware and curious to know more about themselves. When they bring this to the counselling couch, I try and paint a picture of what's happening for them.

And because these people are open to learning something new, this is when the magic occurs.

You don't have to know what you want out of therapy just yet. But aren't you just a little curious? That's a good place to start...

What Clients Are Saying

  • Back to work in four weeks

“When I first met Shameem, I was quite broken after suffering an assault at work and major burnout. I was mentally and emotionally disempowered. The support received from her sessions was critical to my recovery which saw me return back to work within four weeks of the incident. I'm extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to work on myself with her partnership”

    Wendy
  • An open space to talk

"It was a very open space for me to talk, which allowed me to speak about anything and build on things I hadn't realised would be helpful. Shameem provided good coping mechanisms and reassuring discussions."

Pre-Marriage Consultations

Thinking about marriage? Before you say “I do,” it helps to explore what partnership really looks like day to day. In a pre-marriage consultation, we’ll talk through expectations, roles, responsibilities, and money — the things that often cause friction later on. Give your relationship the best possible start with open conversations from the beginning.

Communication challenges don't have to break connection

When it comes to relationships, here's what we know:

Most couples struggle not because they don't care, but because conversations spiral into conflict or silence.

At The Counselling Couch, you'll learn simple tools that make talking — even about the hard stuff — feel safer and more constructive. With the right approach, you'll stop dreading difficult conversations and start feeling confident, calm, and understood.

When communication works, trust grows — and that's the foundation you can build the rest of your life on.

Ready to take the first step? Healthy relationships begin with healthy conflicts.
